Call to Action for HB 1220

Friends

We are reaching out to you today to ask you to take action on an important piece of legislation for Washington’s future. The bill introduced by Rep. Peterson to update the Growth Management Act to require planning for housing diversity and affordability,  the development of emergency shelters and permanent supportive housing, and to address racial bias and exclusion in housing (HB 1220) will be going through its first legislative hearing in the Local Government Committee this Wednesday, January 27th at 10AM. We need your help to make it clear to our legislators that Washington can’t wait any longer to address the housing crisis in our land-use planning.

This is an extremely important hearing that may decide the fate of this bill. It is vital that the Legislature decides to vote this bill into law.
