Say THANK YOU to legislators who voted to require planning for climate change!
On the 30th Anniversary of the Growth Management Act, Washington could become one of the first states to require local planning for climate mitigation and adaptation.
Thanks to leadership from freshman representative Davina Duerr (D-Bothell), the Washington State House passed HB 2427, which would add a climate change goal to the Growth Management Act. If passed by the Senate and signed by the Governor, HB 2427 would make addressing climate change a binding requirement for planning within the State’s largest counties.
Let's show our appreciation to Rep. Duerr and others in the House of Representatives who voted to pass HB 2427! It's important that our legislators know that community members like you care about climate planning. A strong show of appreciation for supporters in the House will help us build momentum for passage in the Senate.
